LOVE

Today, for some, the word love has lost it is meaning. We love objects, places, complete strangers make love, and we depend on love to fill us up. We throw the word around like a hot rock, and I am as guilty as anyone. Perhaps like something and cannot find a strong enough word to express that, and so we say ‘love.’

Fair enough. So, what is love? It is a strong feeling we have toward others, nature, and creatures therein. We want to be near or with that which we love as much as possible. This includes hiking in the wilds and stopping to wrap ourselves up in the fresh air and wilderness. At least, that is what it is at this physical existence. This love is so strong that we feel at one with the other, and it pains us to be apart. But the love I want to talk about is spiritual.

Spiritually, love takes on totally different dimensions from physical devotion. Repeatedly, people who have experienced death and returned, rave about the overwhelming love they felt. We are told it filled every crevice of their being and overflowed to everything. Those who went to a beautiful garden say the plants, animals, and even water emanating great love.

Many who experienced the spiritual level see an enormous light that is brighter and bigger than our sun could ever be. They are aware that this is where all that love is coming from. They also know that this is the Source of all we know. When we experience this eternal Love, we know we have found HOME. This is where we belong.

In my studies of death experiences, I have learned that everything, no matter the appearance, is created from the power of Love that is the Source. Love at that level is not a feeling; it is a power, a physical reality, the essence of being. As though, within the Isness, a fountain of pure love perpetually overflows and spills in all directions. It floods the universe and fills every crack or crevice. Spiritual Love is the energy used for creation to happen. This Love is the essence of our reality, a state of being that is rightfully ours. Like a gift being handed out with open hands, it is up to us to know it and own it.

Love can only be love. It cannot change or be anything other than what it is. The Love essence of the Source is unconditional. As such, there cannot be punishment, judgment, or deprivation. What we label as sinful and wrong, simply melts away in the flood of Love.

As though on a merry-go-round, we come back to you and me. Please know that the Love that is also the essence of us is a powerful force that can change the world in an instant. I am not talking about some dream world. I mean that if we could be the love we are, we could instantly change the world. Love is a condition that we carry with us no matter the appearance. It can never be diluted or wiped away. It is the reality of the universe. And, when we understand our actual reality, love binds us to one another in joy, peace, and a perpetual offering.
